  • Job Title: Temporary Part-Time Outreach Case Manager

    Hour: 20 hours per week

    Pay: $30 per hour

    Job Summary: 

    The Community Investment Alliance is a nonprofit organization that addresses homelessness and housing insecurity in our community. As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive support, we seek a Part-Time Outreach Case Manager to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to connect clients in need with appropriate services and resources. Work with diverse populations, including homeless individuals and others facing social and economic barriers. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and resourcefulness are required. This position falls under the Alliance’s street outreach lead and social worker, supporting our mission of offering culturally appropriate, trauma-informed services and promoting access to stability for individuals experiencing homelessness.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

    Grant Administration and Management:

    • Conduct outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness, building rapport and trust to facilitate access to services and resources.

    • Conduct outreach services independently in open-air and non-congregate non-traditional settings

    • Provide case management services, including assessments, goal setting, phone calls, document completion, appointment scheduling and attendance, and development of individualized service plans.

    • Assist clients in accessing food, survival gear, housing, healthcare, employment, education, and other essential resources.

    • Advocate for clients’ needs and rights in public and service-based settings, collaborating with community partners and service providers.

    • Maintain accurate and confidential client records using HMIS, VISPADAT, Excel, Salesforce, and other relevant databases.

    • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

    • Collaborate with other Alliance staff members to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.

     

    Education and Experience 

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field (preferred)
      or relevant life and/or employment experience.

    • Experience in outreach, case management, or direct care services.

    • Skillset in behavioral health first aid basics such as harm reduction, substance use recovery, de-escalation, and crisis management.

     

    Skills and Competencies 

    • Strong interpersonal skills and empathy with the ability to build trust with diverse populations

    • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and cultural competence.

    • Possesses effective strategies to communicate about and support one’s well-being during periods of heightened stress.

    • Proficiency in HMIS, VISPADAT, Excel, Salesforce, or willingness to undergo training.

    • Strong communication, verbal and written.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    • Shows initiative in self and professional development, task completion, and follow-up.

    Work Environment 

    The work involves the normal physical activity associated with an office environment. This position may require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. This job role necessitates performing outreach work and involves physically walking around Durango to provide support to clients. The candidate will be required to visit various locations to effectively communicate with clients and assist them with their needs.

  • Job Title: Accounting and Grant Administration Manager 

    Location: Remote 

    Salary: $54,000 to $62,000 per year 

    Job Type: Full-time 

    Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Operating statewide in Colorado and expanding its impact into New Mexico, the Alliance is at the forefront of fostering collaborative efforts and innovative approaches to address complex housing challenges and drive meaningful change.

    Job Summary: 

    The Accounting and Grant Administration Manager at the Community Investment Alliance is responsible for grant administration and management, policy related research, data collection and analysis, and accounting and operations support to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and effective stewardship of organizational resources. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting expertise, grant administration experience, and a commitment to advancing our mission.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

    Grant Administration and Management:

    • Research grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources to identify potential funding opportunities.

    • Prepare grant proposals, applications, budgets, and supporting documents, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and requirements.

    • Manage the grant application process, including submission deadlines, follow-up communications, and tracking of application status.

    • Monitor grant awards and manage grant agreements, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.

    • Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather information and data needed for grant proposals and reports

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive grant management systems, including tracking of grant activities, reporting requirements, and financial expenditures.

     

    Accounting:

    • Oversee all aspects of nonprofit accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.

    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies and procedures.

    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and board review.

    • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support financial planning and decision-making.

    • Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals for annual audits and tax filings.

    • Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard organizational assets and mitigate financial risks.

    • Prepare complete and accurate documentation for CEO and project manager payouts, and inform the board of any updates.

    • Ensure accurate recording of all board meeting discussions and decisions by preparing for meetings and take minutes.

     

    Policy Research and Analysis:

    • Participate in research on policy impact at the local and state levels to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices. Analyze the research findings and provide recommendations for action. 

    • Collect and analyze data to support policy and operational planning.

     

    Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience 

    • College degree in finance, business administration, public policy, or related field or equivalent experience. 

    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in nonprofit accounting and grants administration, with demonstrated expertise in financial management and grant compliance.

    • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.

    • Experience with State and Federal financial reporting and compliance obligations.

    • Strong background in policy analysis and research.

    • Experience and expertise in quantitative assessment.

     

    Skills and Competencies 

    • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and QuickBooks

    • Understanding of the political systems within Colorado 

    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

    • Budget Development and management 

    • Critical thinker 

    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze financial data and grant requirements accurately.

    • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines simultaneously.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
