Lived Experience Advisory Board

Advocating for positive change in La Plata County.

Mission

We advocate for positive change in the lives of those facing housing insecurity in La Plata County by sharing firsthand stories and expertise of homelessness to elected officials, service providers, funders, business owners and other housed stakeholders to ensure a safe and dignified existence for all.

Vision

We envision a La Plata County in which all community members have the opportunity for safe and stable housing, and where anti-homelessness laws, policies and practices cease to exist.

Register for the ACLU Training Series

The Lived Experience Advisory Board with ACLU Colorado is leading a series of five trainings open to everyone, including folks with lived experience of homelessness as well as ally community members at large.

Sessions will cover topics including Know Your Rights, storytelling for change, civics/voting, and creating an intake with the ACLU's legal department.

The trainings start on Sept 2 and will occur every other Monday 12-1pm. We'll have lunch for 25 folks in person!

Folks can come in person to the DU Social Work classrooms in the Commons Building or can receive a Zoom link when they register online via this link.
